can anyone tel me what is involed in replacing and xd ute guards bonet front bar with xh parts ? can it be done ?

alot of cutting!!
they don't bolt on if that's what you're asking, the inner guards and radiator support is different.

Sorry to hijack the thread but what about XF panels on an XD? I'm pretty sure their just a bolt on.

My XD ute has XF guards, XH rear bar and XG grille and they are all just a straight swap.

Aha. It might be easier for me to start looking for a V8 XD as a next car instead of trying to convert an XF into a V8. Plus the leaf sprung rear end is easier and cheaper to set up for the strip.

Only problem is that the XF guards have no indicators in them, so potentially you can end up running around with no front indicators.
Easiest way around it, just drop in some aftermarket twinlights and you have front indicators. This is my 1980 XD with the front end changes, looks like a XG now (which is what I sold to buy the XD)

The way the XF front lights are, they do have front indicators integrated into the light, much like the twinlights, and the 86 -88 models have a side repeater in the front bar. Have a look in interceptors user gallery for pix of my old XF on the tilt tray and you'll see what I"m talking about. I never really liked the twin light front on a X series. |
