Will a supra 5 Speed gear box fit and bolt to, with the appropriate adapting parts, the 88 XF ute? anyone done it? I plan on working the 250 xflow (Carby) to get 300HP.

Was quite common back in the early 90's - with XD and Es

Standard procedure - Dellow or CRS (I think) for a bellhousing.. or perhaps ebay

Maybe better to get a T5, as they were an option for them....will easily handle 300hp.

T5 bellhousings werent real common. The Aftermarket ones were. And if you do go with a t5, make sure you get a later one from an EB II or similar to start with - The XF one was crap.

I beg to differ on that...was same box as used in the EA and EB as well.
I have the EA T5 in my ED.....have no dramas with it at all....and I'm making 150 rwkw.

There where two five speeds used in XE & XF the first in XE's was a sigma box and yes it was crap. In 1987 the T5 was offered as an option prior to that you only got 4 speeds or auto's in XF'S. The only difference between XF & EA T5'S was the rear extension housing was slightly different to suit the rear engine mount. To get more out of the engine use con rods out of a 200 CI and special ACL pistons. The rods are longer and it gives a better rod angle off TDC. If you can't get those pistons fitting std pistons on backwards has a similar effect, knocks a bit cold though. The head off a Fairlane with EFI has a higher comp ratio as well. I do have XF T5 bell housings but I am in Melb. Regards TPVM.

I think Malwood Auto does the bits and pieces for a supra 5 speed conversion.

the toyota 5 speed gearbox mod is very popular with the classic HK to HG holdens. my old man installed one in his HG ute 15 odd years ago. the castlemaine rodshop can help you out with the bits you need here.........http://www.rodshop.com.au/index.html the gearbox will fit once you've got all the bits you need, my seriously considering doing this mod to my XF ute.
