This is my first post so hope I have put this in the right forum.
I have just finished putting an AU VCT engine with 4 speed auto into my XF ute, I have found the engine harness diagram and ECU pin outs for an ef but really need a copy of the engine wiring diagrams for an AU with the VCT engine. Can anyone help out? I have worked out most of it but there are a few areas I'm not sure of and the proper diagram would help heaps. If anyone is contemplating doing this swap I have taken heaps of progress photos that may help others if interested. Thanks, |

Ok thanks again, I was thinking about buying a Haynes manual but haven't done so yet, mainly from previous experience with these manuals.

Gotten a lot of use out of the Gregory's one for the xf over the years, the numbers and letters on the wiring diagrams are hard to read though, have to be enlarged, and the old SP (scientific publications) ones are also good,

You need to buy this manual...
http://www.fordfalconrepairmanuals.com. ... eries2.php I did... Its 20USD... It is the genuine Ford item... I have had it beside the paper copy and it is word for word identical except is complete with hyperlinks for quick and easy navigation... I used it for putting the AU VCT into my ED... Not sure what you're doing? I fitted full AU wiring harnesses so it is an AU inside an ED shell... Uses AU immobilisation and remotes with OBDII diagnostics and comms... Works good and most was plug and play with the exception of changing the plugs... So most of it I didn't have to worry about too much... Biggest job was the dash loom... See my build thread... Cheers, Tim

Thanks for the advice about the AU manual Tim, nice ride btw. I'm using engine, trans, engine harness and ecu from the same model (supposedly) Au with J3 chip to make it run stand alone. Its got an xg fuel tank and xg engine mounts and fabricated transmission mounts. I have mostly worked out the wiring and added relays for ecu, fuel pump and starter and it should work.
I am currently working on the HEGO sensor wiring. The sensor is in the exhaust manifold but I can't see any plug for it anywhere in the harness so I have to hard wire it when I work out the wire colors. I am also not sure about getting the temp gauge to work and the engine cooling fans, Its a work in progress. I got some info from another forum which turned out to be not workable for my car so wasted a bit of time there, but you get that. |
