This is just my experience but...
We had an EA on LPG that did that... It would rev up and down at idle, and you could see the acellerator pedal move up and down by itself... It had a brand new accellerator cable, so i doubt it's that, and also it never had cruise control, so i'd rule that out.
The thing in common is LPG. Maybe it could be the electronic box that controls the LPG, maybe it has an economy control or rev control that has gone a little hay-wire... It didnt always do it, just sometimes, didnt seem to be any pattern either.

I unplugged the wire on the Cruise Control Accuator...
I'm pretty sure the guages weren't working when I fired it up when the Cruise was playing up.. The guy who had it before me has made a mess of the wiring..

Hey dude, simon here... the guy you bought the car off!!!
good to hear the old girl is still going, i dream of her at night....
haha

the problem with the gauges may be a blue wire that's hooked up to the batt... from memory, i don't know what it's for but it caused some wierd s**t with the gauges i think temp was reading full and some other funny stuff was going on....

Hey Simon, how have you been? Yep the old girl's still going strong.. She gets driven 150kms every day :).. All I've done to it since I've had it is put some lower Spring's in the front & a Pioneer Stereo.. Gave her a polish yesterday & she came up a treat, totally different colour now!

I was thinking it must of been one of those wire's hooked up to the battery, I thought they all come off it, but mustn't of.. I'll give it a go..

Thats exactly what it's doing, the temp works for a few mins then goes to full & the dash flash's when ya got an indicator on & ya foot on the brake, weird..

Only other problem shes got is the speedo sometimes doesn't work, but that been playing up for a few months now..

Cheers..

I disconnected it & the car won't start... The rest of the wires (8 of them) are black, so I'll go through them one by one & nut it out..

Thanks for ya help Simon, I panicked when I first fired her up & it said it had no Oil Pressure!
