Hey, the rear part of the handbrake cable on my XF Wagon is seized up, and I was wondering if theres any tricks to unseizing it, and also, if I cant unseize it, what handbrake cables will fit, I have the rear discs, and I know a sedan one will be too short, but can I use one from an XE or XD with rear discs? what about an E Series one?
Cheers, Gab |

pull the cables out and give them a gutfull of lanolin, keep going till the spray comes out the other end reasonably clear, be carefull what sprays you use, some arent friendly to the liners of the outer sleeves on the cables
only asked if you were sure it was the rear cable because its a common fault for X-series handbrakes to fail where the cable runs over the roller where it goes through the firewall failing that, new cables should be available from repco, etc.... shouldnt be too exxy |
