Ok guys, i think i shorted something out the only way my car will start now is if i run a wire from positive terminal on battery to positive terminal on coil and start it. immobilizer is fine etc all fuses seem fine does anyone else know wot the problem could be ? cheers, (its a 84 xf lol)

Common prob with the XF is the ignition backing loom. might be that, but that usually starts acting up with the starter motor side first tho

is in the steering column, behind where you you put your key in to start the old girl up.

remove stearing column plastic, few screws underneath and you will see where I mean.
