gady i know there is probably a thread on here somewhere with someone with the same problem as me, i have an xf ute and i'm wanting to put 6x9's up back i bought a pair of boxes and they seemed to fit in fine behind the back of my seat until i sat in the seat, and my head was pushed up against the roof, i'm just wondering if anyone has any idea on where to put them? i don't wanna put them in the doors because i have 6.5" splits in the front of the door and it looks like the 6x9's would prevoke my windows from winding down if i put it in the rear of the door at the bottom, also dont want to put them between the seats either as there is a sub there any idea or suggestions will help absoloutely wracking my brains trying to find a solution to my lame yet probably popular problem.
Cheers Paul. |

Easy fix - cab extension first, then you will have heaps of room for big speakers.
Check my gallery or ute build thread for pics of where i put my speakers.

just a thought..... 6x9's, 6.5 splits and a sub....... might be too much noise for the cabin space. If you install heaps of speakers inside a ute, the orchestrial sound will vibrate off all internal barriers of the cabin and sometimes it sounds worse than having just one pair of speakers. I would sell the 6x9's on ebay with the boxes and if the splits are not that good quality spend a good couple of hundred ( say alpines high grade at about $400-$600 from memory) on a new pair and leave it at that with the sub. If you are really keen on the 6x9's I think there is room on the xf's b pillar dressing, or maybe you can shape your boxes to mould into the b pillar covers....... amped ( hopefully) 6x9's right in your ears...... that will send you deaf

I had an XH van, I put 6x9 2 ways in the bottom panel in front of the fuel tank.
They were there for base and worked quite well.
