that would be great i an going to cut the firewall out of the XD where the heater box is and the same part out of the donor car hopefully i can just weld it in and fit the XF heater box in?

Thats not quite correct. Have a look at page 7 of the catalogue from this book shop. I have the XF manual and it is excellent (the original Ford factory repair manual).

Ok thanks i bought tha manuals. 1 for the XD and one for LTD.
