Hi guys, I cannot find any info regarding the belt tensioner for the XH 4.0 litre motor. Can someone tell me if it is the same as the EF/EL or different. I noticed that my lower pulley seems to be loose and the entire arm appears to move about. The belt is actually rubbing against the arm and does not line up with the other pulleys. Cheers.

Thanks Troyman, so I can't use one off anything apart from the XH. Is that right? Cheers.

You can use an EF/EL tensioner, contrary to popular belief. It needs some "modification" with an angle grinder though.

As said, it is possible, but didn't he also get a belt 2 inches longer??
if the xh tensioners are cost prohibitive and you want to give it a go let us know and I'll take a photo of it, thank bushy for giving it a go though.

Thanks guys, I will have a look tomorrow and see how much they want for the XH type. If it is expensive then I can take a look at the EF/EL one and modifying won't turn me off. Cheers again.

Yes, 50mm longer than EL belt. XH Tensioners are cost prohibitive, in excess off $140..... I have to copy that belt setup for the NC too Joel!

Bursons sell Dayco brand Tensioners for XH's without BBM for around $150 new.

haha, I think that's like 3 time what I paid for my ef one, and yes it was dayco from bursons, not yom chon from ebay, it actually seems quite impressive a part like that produced so cheaply.

Try find a Yum-Cha XH tensioner. Whereas there is probably around 2000 EF's to every one XH. The price is very good considering its a 'major' item in the car.
