Hey guys, Can someone tell me how to get the old pins out of the hinges please? I had the door off this arvo and I just can't seem to get the pin to move. Hammer didn't seem to want to move it and I'm not prepared to hit it too hard. Do they need to be pressed out or just coaxed with a bigger hammer? Cheers AU055

if they're the originals, they will have a little lip cast into them that you'll have to cut off.
they should just need a gentle tap out then. if they've been replaced however there will be a circlip on them. Kind Regards Rob |

Thanks Robbo. These lttle buggers have circlips but I did remove the clip and gave it a few knocks with the hammer but not a sign of moving. I did however manage to re-align the passengers door. I have the usual tear around the bottom hinge so I removed the countersunk bolts in the hinges to have a look at what can be done to strengthen it and when I replaced the door I inserted normal bolts with 1/2inch heads. They were able to be tightened up a lot more than the countersunk units and when I closed the door it was hanging perfect. the door still knocks a bit when fully opened but come this weekend it comes off agin to be reparied around the tear. While it's off I will remove the hinges fom the body and have another go at removing the pins.Cheers again.

Leave em on the car and put a support under the hinge around the head of the pin. [socket on an extension] and give it a clout that usually works. Once the pin is clear of it's splines it will almost fall out. Regards TPVM.
