Ok we've completed all the hard stuff, the engine is in and everything is bolted up. Now we're stuck at the wiring.....

The ECU in the XH is EEC-V, manual and 120-pin

The wiring harness I have is from an automatic EL, do I put this in or put the manual wiring loom from the original motor in? If so do I need to add anything?

It already had cruise control and Ive changed that and the accelerator cable.

I ended up using the XH wiring loom as it looked exactly the same as the EL one, except the dizzy wires ran alongside the inner guard instead of with the injector wires like the EL.
The car turns over fine but wont start, there is fuel pumping through the line but i'm not sure if its getting to the fuel runner.... maybe I have the vacuum lines connected incorrectly as these were different from XH-EL. The XH had 2 vacuum lines entering the engine bay from the cabin which were not connected previously, one black and one green, so maybe I need these connected to operate the fuel regulator???

Anyways I'll play around with it some more tomorrow.

Ok everything looked the goods, double-checked everything and it still wouldnt start. Put some Aerostart in it and it fired so I did something that didnt seem correct to me at the time..... I switched the fuel lines around.

WooHoo.... she purrs like a kitten.

So after all the little dramas.... putting an EL engine with BBM into an XH is piss easy. The computer ECU is the same, wiring harness is essentially the same, throttle sensors and stuff are the same..... just had to use EL accelerator and cruise cables and induction setup.

Why they didnt bloody use the BBM in the first place baffles me.
