Hi guys, I have a genuine Ford torneau cover on my XH and it leaks like a sieve. I think that it is coming through the stitching but when I removed it today I noticed that the whole section underneath was wet. Can someone suggest a good waterproofing product to use. I have thought of using Dubbin which I used to put on my bike leathers but it does collect dust. Mr. Sheen was also recommended but it also leaves marks running down the side of the car. The cover has only been on the car for about 8 months and was wrapped in the original plastic when I got it so it has not been out in the weather to deteriorate. Cheers.

When I first got my ute, the tarp leaked like that. It was a cheap, chinese POS. I binned it and had an Auto Upholsterer make me a new tarp, I've had it now for 8 or 9 years, and it's still waterproof, is out in the weather a lot, doent get washed more than 3 or 4 times a year, never gets armor-all or similar. Cost me $110. Look into it, you'll be happy you did.
Cheers,
8-)

Thanks Sooty, only problem is, this is a genuine Ford tarp. I did expect better from it especially as you say, cheap Chinese crap leak. I have the car in the garage drying out so when it has dried I will try the old Dubbin leather gear to see how it goes.

Cheers.
