Car is XH series II, donor is series I.
The looms around the inlet manifold are different plugwise - wires are same though.

thanks ,i was going to just cut the ends off the old ones and solder them to the new harness ,but the wire count is not the same (36 in one ,37in the other) so i am going to have to find the spare wire and what it does . i feel i am going to need both wiring diragrams and then trace it out .

37th one would be for broadband solinoid. If you've got the right loom I'd be doing the conversion now as I found the wiring the hardest bit to get right.
See I did learn something when I did the conversion Snap

thanks heaps guys , Mr ' Dog 'what is a ' broadband solinoid 'and what coulor code is the wire?and what does it do ? if i use all the doner wiring (series 1) i feel i have to drop the intake off to get all the plugs and clips . i would like to keep the series 2 engine harness (because its tidier and it has the ecm plug as well) so that would be 1 less set of pins i have to worry about , thanks again

I tried to email it to you but in doing so discovered it's 301mb! so still a bit too big to email. However...... I did google EF/EL workshop manual and found a link to a post on here with download links..... So here it is.. http://www.fordmods.com/fordmods-technical-documents-diy-f38/ea-eb-ed-ef-el-nf-nl-ltd-workshop-manual-t86156.html Now the EF/L series ARE (as you probably know) a little different to the XH/L utes but it should give you some idea on what you're looking for.

hi as it turns out the series 2 engine harness only has 30 wires being used anyway ,that leaves 7 out . i am now colour matching cutting and solding , heat shinking them all back together , will let you know if the engine fires up, or i just have a fire . its sink or swim time .
