you want to put an EF XR6 front on an XH?

afaik only the headlights themselves are interchangeable, the nosecone, bonnet and guards are all XH specific

I spoke to a Ford dealer today about this and the bonnet is the same, even the bumper is one diget from being a standard XH bumper which is in turn a EF front bar, So I think that all you would need to do is to buy headlights indicators, and the front nose cone

with ford parts one digit is the difference between alot of things.

one digit is the only digit between LH and RH. one digit is the only difference between an EF GLi bar and a Fairmont bar.

one digit can make a BIG difference

Cheapest and easiest way to do this is twinlight.com. The fronts (other than lights are XH specific cos the XH is a Frankenute: part xf, part ed/f

I maybe did not make myself clear all I am trying to do is put an EF/EL XR nosecone and lights on an XH ute. Has anyone done this and would it fit. Am not planning to change the bonnet or guards. Cheers

those twin lights may be easier, but not cheaper at 650 a set unpainted :o

IIRC the front bumper + headlights is the same from XH to EF. the rest (being panels) is different :?

the ef/l xr bar is the same as the xh bar so you shouldnt have too many problems

Bonnets are completely different. Bumpers are the same.

For the conversion you will need to find an EF/EL xr bumper and 2 EF/EL xr headlights and indicators. Thats it iirc

Bonnets are different as there are clearance issues with the radiator - hence there being a raised centre profile and a "bulge" at the front of the bonnet. The bonnets are not interchangeable. To do an XR conversion, all you need are the headlights, indicators/park lights & the bar itself. I had a quote I think around the $1600 for all the parts from a wrecker.
