So a couple of weeks ago my ute wouldn't go and had no spark so I immediately I though it would be the coil so I borrowed a coil Off a mate just to see of that was the problem and it was! So I parked it in the shed that night and went out the next morning and wouldn't go had no spark so I bought a brand new bosch coil and plugged ot in and started straight away so all is good! This coil has been in the ute for about two weeks and been started heaps of times but yesterday I washed the ute ( not the engine bay) and parked it in the shed and today it won't start again!

What is causing the coil to keep failing?

A stuffed TFI module will burn coils out.
It recommended that you change both at the same time.

Okay mate!how do I go about replacing that module? And will I need another coil?

Just my advice, if you have enough money, buy a new distributor, and coil and put both in, while you are at it put in new leads, when buying new leads check pack and make sure all 7 leads are in pack before you leave store.
This model is prone/known for ignition problems, also make sure your spark plugs are of correct type, number and correct fitment for your engine. There are many different fits for these models, most older vehicles may have had engine swaps performed and my not be getting the right bits for your engine. Take a picture with you, when buying parts to make sure you get, right bits.

poentially similar issue here. Ended up replacing coil, leads, dizzy and TFI.

Pretty sure it was just the TFI, but the rest needed doing anyway.

Yes Guys, I have been replacing many parts now on my XH, over time they can deteriorate quite a bit, now have another wiring issue, so now need a rewire or wiring harness. No real easy fix, for these older vehicles, good parts are getting very scarce.
My wife keeps reminding me how much I have spent so far, but I like working through all the little problems and get it working again.
If you don't like working on old cars, go and buy a brand new one under warranty, get it fixed for free.
I bought her a new one so she would leave me alone.
