Guys,

Please let me know if this has been answered, I couldn't find anything in my searches.

I have an old '98 XHII - unmodified but looked after. I need to get 0.5m3 of crushed rock, just wondering if I'll kill the old girl by putting it in the back. It will weigh about 850kgs - so it isn't a little bit of weight, and the car isn't a 1 tonne ute.

Thanks guys

J

when I had my XH XR6 went to pick up some sand for the kids sand pit, old mate at the quarry dropped about 1/2 a loader bucket in the back of the poor old ute mind you the XR only had 550kg or so load rating, leaf springs where inverted and mudflaps dragged on the ground but the old ute got me few Km home no problems didnt break it.
from memory the standard ute payload is about 700kg honestly you should be fine just pump your tyres up in the rear and drive accordingly if its only a short trip.
