We are going to do a V8 conversion to a mates XP ute, and we are wondering if a clevo will fit in there, or would a windsor be easier. we dont want to spend lots of cash, so an injected one is out. a clevo would be prefered, but we are up for options

g'day
As far as i know a cleveland will not fit and there 2 heavy for the front end without modification. My mates got an xp and his runs a 289 windsor. We know that a 302 windsor will fit. Cheers

ill get some pics of my mates xp, its very nice, been fully restored, lowered on 17 inch frs.
we were thinking a 5 litre windsor would be the engine to go for. also do they need any mods to fit them in? or will they bolt in? |

Go with the Windsor - the factory bolted them in, thats how easy they go in...you can either do your own mounts or I think Rod Hadfield or dellow have kits.
A Clevo is too wide and you'll be chopping into the spring towers, plus never changing spark plugs. I had an XM 302 years ago and changing plugs was tight but do-able...a clevo no way...
