Yes painted in acrylic. First coats, will sand and repaint when all assembled. I think the wheels will do good at least for the moment.

Five slots are boring, only for GT reps. The auto you used was a BTR four speed? what mods did you have to do to get it fit?

2.92 gearing probably wont work so well off the mark it will be a real slug,5.0,s come stock with a 3.23 or 3.27 ratio,so the 3.5 would work better and still give roughly 2000rpm at 100kph

3.5's are good and will give it a bit of poke. Easy to get hold of too.

Well, this has become the main idea to base my rebuild around. Did you install anyo ther things out of the eb. Im thinking putting in all of the aircon/climate control for abit of luxury :D . Im very intersted, so any info would be appreciated.

hey, just wondering how the conversion to the efi 5l went. i am currently trying to get hold of an old XY ute to do a similar thing with and just wondered how the engine went and how much modifying had to be done to retro fit efi and electronic dash and all that

Hi again. Still playing with xw. Decided to go with xw dash as will look better than converted to eb. Thinking auto will only need digital speedo input to run. will run angle drive for cable speedo.
The moter and 4 speed auto goes straight in but extend gearbox mount about 2" . Put whole wireing loom in but cut out things like power windows , fuel sender, tail lights , head lights, ran new wire from fuel pump relay to pump. alternator light needs to be connected for it to charge.
fitting windsor 302/ xw extractors to 5l. right side fit up good, left just touches starter moter, will adjust with hammer, about 5mm should be good. different type starter on eb I guess. Have to fit 02 sensers to strags. also put converters on then twin exhaust.
Car starting and driving now. Trying to leave ac and power steer pump on as will use later mabey. no other eb interier used as is all standard xw/y. ( can pull moter and box and drop 351 in IF i wanted. all standard.
Dont think that will happen as am happy with newer moter. Cheers
More photos to come.

Moter runs much better now.

That sort of rebuild is just excellent. Seems all the wallet chuckers and credit card gurus are the same mob running nitrous thru the standard clubbie down the free for all drag meets, reelng off a 12.9 and then booking it in at the local holden dealer fo a diff clunk under warranty. I`ve got much more time for an acrylic paint job and dirty fingers than a bloody glovebox full of catalog combo reciepts spouting its got fifteen thousand at the boots and was painted by house of pimp me up. Thats a bloody sick car mate.

Thanks Tom, helps with the motervation a lot. Is a lot of time to spend on an old car, Getting closer now so starting to see results,
New boot rubber fitted, rear interior lights arrived and soon to be fitted.
Question? Has anyone seen a XW or Y sith saddle hood lining fitted.
Thinking saddle or black, holes of course,
Couple of photos
Thanks again
