the red XT in the links i posted above should've been my first car, but "it was too big a car and too powerful for a first car"

so i bought the ef - just as big, much more power!!

Well front wise....like exactly the same front end as the one with the dog IIRC and almost like the brown one above that...

Im certain it aint a XP as they has round tail lights.

I think its a fairlane 500 IIRC...

ill get dad to take a few photos of it on the way to work if its still there.

I would love to get it but dads a bit of a holden fan and doesnt like 351's and 302's cause they were better than the holden motors.

LOL well u could of said so! Fairlanes are a different modle to a falcon.

For starters are the twin headlights side by side or under and over? if there under and over its a ZD or ZC Fairlane, if there side by side its most likely a ZA or ZB

If it is a Fairlane it is a Z series. X series are all Falcon/Fairmont.

XR = ZA
XT = ZB
XW = ZC
XY = ZD
XA = ZF
XB = ZG
XC = ZH
XD = ZJ
XE = ZK
XF = ZF

I think these are all correct.

Could it be even earlier and maybe be a '63 Compact Fairlane ??? These have side by side head lights, I think.

If your falcon has pinstriping along the side it is very easy to tell which model it is.
A stripe front to back right along the side = XY
A stripe that has a downward 90 degree bend at the front = XW
