dose anyone know how the ford technictions drain the auto trans and the torque converter??

They would have to be removed to drain the TC. A full flush can be done on the car and even done at home with some assistance.

i did that 2 days ago
there is no sump plug. you have to unscrew that square cover. the oil will flow out like crazy then to refill use a funnel down the dipstick piping. |

somewhere through ef falcon they stopped using a dipstick and just had the fill plug.Makes it harder for the average bloke to do a trans service!

Tocchi wrote: i did that 2 days ago Yep, best way is to loosen all the bolts holding the trans sump on a couple of turns, then take them off, working your way from the rearmost bolts forward. As you start to loosen some of the ones towards the front, it will start to leak out towards the rear, so before you get that far put a nice big container under the rear of the trans sump, then when you get it starting to leak out, proceed SLOWLY unless you like the thought of wearing trans fluid. once it stops leaking out, loosen the bolts a bit more, let it leak out, continue until it stops leaking. The transmission pan/sump will NOT be empty by this point while it's still held in by a few bolts, but it will have a lot less in it by the time the last bolt holding it in place comes out.

Std trans service refill with just replacing filter and pan gasket is 4 ltrs.
