Quick and very affective mod (not to mention cheap) mod to my EL today. I noticed that cold air was getting to the guard side of the airbox and i couldn't actually run any pipes forward like the Typhoon intakes have. the lines from the compressor run right along side them and has air come through from behind the left headlight.

Image as you can see here, moisture can build up in there (this is 12 hours after the car was switched off) so i opened the drain hole at the bottem too.

the idea of it all is that there was a fair bit of suction from the intake mouth before making a vacum in the lower half of the box. this should allow the engine to breath a bit easier. haven't driven it yet but did a quick rev test and it was more responsive. im going to put a hi flow filter in there and a AU tickford snorkel too.

More about it here http://www.fordmods.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=30914

nice idea, i'm sure it would work effectively too, but yeh, shrink the pics so we don't have to keep scrolling horizontally ;)

a good idea for people running panels.

would this defeat the use of the snorkle though?

cant believe you get water in there, youve seen mine and i get no water in there even after highway trip through a monsoon.

i love cable 8.8mbit, and a 19" @ 1600*1200....ahhhh

at speed the snorkel is not have all that much air rammed in to it, it does have a bonnet in the way first. this way, all though the range it shouldn't flat spot

f**k!!! Big improvment on induction noise! my dead stock engine, filter and all sounds heaps better over 3000! rev's up heaps quicker to, bucket loads more throttle responce.

Well worth it.

ALL EF EL DRIVERS DO THIS!!!
