No I mean the little plastic cover that goes on the bottom so that you can see the back side (engine side) of the fly wheel is approx 3" x 2"

It actually goes on the sump at the bottom not the bell housing I just took another look, it looks like it just clips in?

Still available?

hi George, on the fg falcon, there is a splash shield sort of thing behind the rear tyres which connects the bumper to the chassis, and forms part of the inner wheel well. (not sure what the part is called) considering the gt has a different shapped bumper to the xt and the g series, is that part different too? my ford guy says they only make the one part for all fg's, but the ones on my g6e dont fit the gt bar im putting on. im thinking he could be full of it, which wouldnt be suprising as hes led me astray before.

The splash shiled you are refering to is different on XT's to the rest of the series. Ford lists the G6E, GT, GTP or F6 as the same part number BG 17B938 B and BG 17B939 B. Maybe Ford have made a modification to them to make them fit?

just a quick update. turns out the 'xt' part (as listed by ford) fits the gt bumper. the other part number (stock on my g6e) will not fit. maybe there was a typo by a data base administrator?

Cheers

Hey Papa Smurf,

I'm after some info/wisdom on various parts/mods for an FG XT, and I was directed to this thread because apparently you are the man.

Can you please check out this thread for the questions I have asked and reply either here or there?

Hey guys,

finally after all these years (9) the old 98 AU bit the dust when the auto failed on a recent trip to QLD and back, it simply wasn't worth repairing, so I traded it in for a 2008 FG XT. I got the FG for $22,000.00 with only 10,800 on the clock and it feels and drives like a brand new car, I couldn't be happier... well that's not true, I actually could.

My plans in the near future are to lower it and stick on a nice set of 19" mags, something classy.

I have a couple of questions that I figured someone on these forums would know:

1. It doesn't have ipod and bluetooth only the base model entertainment system, is it possible to have these fitted or will that mean upgrading the entire system?

2. Is it possible to fit driving lights from the G6 to the base model FG, the holes in the front bar look like the right size but the vents seems to be a different shape?

3. Who does good after market towbars for Falcons; would a genuine tow pack be money better spent?

That's all I need to know for now.

Cheers.

Many Thanks ;)

I would love to say yes they all do charge the same $$$ but I am sure they don't.
Part numbers BAF 13005 D, BAF 13006 D, $385.75 each. If you need them I can do a better price if you would like to come in to Thomson Ford.

1. You can buy an Ipod kit, part number BG 289455 AA $367.60

2. Fog lamps for FGs are all the same, part number 2N11 15201 AB $144.90 each, the guys in pre Delivery tell me that the harness is there to fit these lamps and that you can remove the centre section of the surround in the bumper bar.

3. Genuine Towbar, Tongue is Part number BG 19A009 AA $352.00 and the genuine for Trailer plug and harness is BG 15A417 A $99.45.

With the towbar, it comes down to what you want to spend. There are after-market Towbars like Hayman Reece which are the type with the tongue that is a square where it attaches to the bar itself, they are available in standard and heavy duty, most standard towbars are 1600kg.

I hope that helps. If you do decide on buying these, I can do a better price for you. :)
