The plastic fitting you are referring to comes only with the heater hose it attaches to.
Part number EF 18C266 A $48.85

Hi again George. Could I please have a few prices? These are all for an NL Fairlane.

-Front seat belts-Grey height adjustable.
-Chrome auto shifter button
-Concorde special edition exterior pinstriping? Maybe the same as normal, runs along at doorhandle height. The Concorde decals aren't needed. White or grey or silver.
-Is the magnet for the fuel door sensor available?
-Finally, one side repeater. The clear type.

Hi George,
Can I please get a price on a AU 5.0 manual starter motor?
And also are the solenoids interchangeable between them and the 6cyl starter?
Cheers

Well matey, the price of a genuine Ford V8 starter is about $1700.00  and THAT is remanufactured, what rubbish..

They are American made starters and the components are different to the 6cyl ones.

So is that the motorcraft one that you would sell out of Ford?
I see there are plenty of Chinese ones on ebay for around the $170 mark. The $190 Motorcraft one is obviously going to be the pick, yeah?
I've had to give mine a tap each morning for the last 2 days which is not real promising.

More than likely that unit from America is the same as the one we get here, it's a bit like computer parts in America compared to here, we get charged more.
A lot has to do with covering greater costs in OZ so we pay more, that's the official story :)

I am sure there MUST be Auto Electricians about who could offer you a Reco one for MUCH less.

They want $107 to ship it to Aus. But it will still be better then the Chinese ones on offer.

I got onto Ashdown Ingrams though and was told if I remove it to get the stamped numbers I may just be able to buy a replacement solenoid. So that'll be a job for the weekend.

Thanks for your help as always George!

Cheers

i had mine done by a auto electrican in his down time, left it for a week, cost me 50 bucks for the reco.

That's not bad at all Hans. I just don't have a auto elec within 50k's or the time the have the car down for a day at the moment. Usually it may sit there for days or a week at a time but for the next month that wont be the case.

if its the solinoid only, you can un solder the coil wires,2 screws and clean or reverse the copper contact plates, they arc and burn, until they dont contact.be a few hours in it,but will run for some time until the replacement gets to you,a week or more.the small wire from ignition thros the drive geas forward and closes the lpates for the main power to the motor.

Matey, unfortunately my TA company won't allow the photobucket site to display on my logon so, I am guessing what you want it the Insulator with the stud in it for locating the pipes?
They break fairly easy and so I am sure that is what you want, part number is BA 9W680 A $15.00 each. I am sure that Sinclairs will have it or if not, we are open tomorrow morning and I will be working, we have a few in stock.
