Is it at all possible to get an FPV grill badge to suit an FG. As far as I know the only one that fits is a GS one. Any help or info would be great

The BF Calipers are the best to go for are the PBR Black ones. They were fitted to XR8s and to Turbos.
The black ones are the performance type that take the 325mm discs.

You can buy them still, the low level warning sender comes with the grommet, part number EA 10K888 A $63.00 and the nut EC 10K926 A $17.05. These suit from EB to AU and XG/XH.

I would say that it is possible to fit one but buying it is a little difficult. They are on restriction from Ford and so unless you know someone with an FPV, you have a small chance of getting one.

The trans uses a nice expensive oil :) The genuine Ford stuff comes from America, part number XT 5QM x 1Lt and costs $22.60, supposedly requires 4-5 litres as from dry it takes 10.7 litres.
Castrol have their own part number TQ MV but I have no idea of the price.

G'day,

Any chance you could look up the size of the bolts that hold the starter motor on to the bell housing.
For e series v8.

Thanks.

We don't have the sizes of these bolts but I can give you the part numbers. Jefferson and New Oak Ford are showing one of the bolts in stock but I am sure you could get any dealer to buy them in from Ford for you, they have 20+ in stock.
There are 3 bolts, on an Auto there is 2 x W 711769 S437 $3.70 ea and 1 x V 800193 S36C $4.00, on the Manual they take 3 x W 711769 S437. :)

hmm... geez i would sound like an idiot down at the local ford place without the information you supply... you should definately get a pay rise...

anyways... could you help me with a few things? i want to change my AU air intake to a BA air intake, i have the order number for the snorkle but i need the order number for the BA 'tubing'. plus, what ever i will need to do the same oil breather setup that you have, which btw looks very neat.

also, i may possibly need a new ECU (possible water damage)... which part of the serial number will identify it as an ECU for a AUII XR6 ute.

cheers...

The air intake assy in the pic 9C684 is what you want. They are not cheap new and you may have better luck with prices from a wrecker. The part number for what you want is BA 9C684 A $152.60.

When I did my conversion I used the AU breather hose plus an old EA MPI breather hose and joined them with ordinary plastic conduit. The end into the air cleaner is rather simple, you will need a piece of 3" (75mm) tube, preferably steel, about 4" (100mm) long. In the air cleaner top there is a tube bolted in and you will need to remove that. :)

With the ECU the part number is a little more complex. There are 4 changes in ECU for the XR6 Manual ute and they are dictated by month and year. The 12A650 part of the number is constant, the prefix is the tell tale part. The unit would cost from $810.60 to $1134.00 new.
There is a company that does remanufacturing of these and BCMs but I can't remember, sorry.
