I've got an interesting problem that FORD seems to be having trouble answering for me. I have an 2002 BA DEDICATED GAS WAGON, and it would seem that the GAS LEVEL guage IN THE TANK, not the sender guage on the outside of the tank is at fault and giving varying readings or no readings at all. What they cant seem to tell me is if this part is 1, servicable or 2, replaceable. So i'm wondering if you would have any insight as to whether the part is available or if i'm going to need a new tank assembly, and in either case what sort of prices from FORD these will be? Any information would be appreciated, so thanks in advance.

There IS a sender unit for the tank, but usually the tank guage is the problem or as Ash says, the ECU.

The Tank sender is AU2 9275 B $123.60

George can you quote me on 2 AU headlights? I doubt that a drivers side T series in liquid silver will be a stocked item. Mind you, if it is... a price on drivers side light if it exisits. I fear 1 headlight may well turn out to be the most expensive part of my repair bill.

Oh and an AU amber indicator, the one on the guard. It was such a soft hit, not even a broken globe other than driver light indicator. FFS.

george, price on a glove box to suit a black interior g6e? also has there been any reported issues you aware off with glove boxes in the fg? i had mine replaced due to the side nearest the passenger door sagging out and so has my mate. mine is starting to do it again now, and its not like i keep much in there. also on the topic of reported faults, has anything been done about the heat affecting the screen in the centre of the speedo cluster? everytime i ask my dealer he says nothing can be done about it.
cheers in advance mate

I can tell you that there was afor a while a problem with the Glovebox's warping but I am assured that it doesn't happen anymore??
Anyway, the part number for the Shadow Grey one with flocking is BG F06010 A1F $227.00

As to the other issue, I will have to ask one of the greasey's when they come in. :)

I spoke to our Service Dept about this issue and that had NOT heard of it. One of the guys here has had 2 FGs as Demos and he said that he has seen the LCD section be a little strnage when it is VERY hot day but so far, nothing seems to be known about it?

it seems to be on a quite hot day if the cars interior has warmed up that it happens. such as working on a summers day and going home at lunch time. the cluster centre lcd screen has a tendancy to fade out to the point it is near on unreadable. the one on the icc is fine. happens on both my 09 g6e and my mates 08 g6e

I spoke to one our BETTER mechanics and he said it MAY be a cluster problem. He suggests disconnecting the Instrument cluster from power and leaving it unplugged for about an hour then put it back together, if that doesn't fix it, see the dealer as it MAY be a cluster fault and in need of replacing.

Hi George,
Can you please tell me if all 4 doors on an AU2 wagon are the same as those on a BA Fairlane?
Cheers

Ash, the front doors have a different number but I am sure it is about the extra holes for moulds?
The Rear doors though are Wagon specific as is the C pillar and dog leg panel.

George are the slimline weather shields for an AU still available in a smoked finish?
If so I would be after both driver and passengers side.

Yes they are and are the same price for a pair that one ordinary one is. $99.00 for the pair.
