Over the last couple of days I have been busy converting the EF from Auto to Manual. There are a couple of doco's available explaining the process, but I thought I would write one with pictures to make it that little bit easier.

If there are any amendments that need to be made, let me know and I'll fix them up.

Anyways, hope this helps a few people out.

Cheers,
Dave.

you can use the 6 cyl box, but you need a v8 bell housing and input shaft changed...

Nice to see more ppl converting to the T5. I still love my EB Ghia with the T5 in it. So much more fun to drive than with an auto.

Cheers

if you just bridge the wires the ecu will read 5v which is out of the gear selection voltage range.
so it will basically do nothing except put out fault codes..
the resistors are put in to reduce the voltage so the ecu gets the correct voltage for neutral..

what i did was i went to the wreckers and got the short ef auto loom they charged me $5....

just follow the wires on the ef loom and solder ur wires in to the corresponding wires... im pretty sure they are *solid yellow* with *black with whites stripe* whenever in the doco it says purple it means pink but anyways its easier just to buy the loom and follow it worked a treat 4 me

Hope it helps,

Alex

Just after a bit of info on the EL Futura wiring info. Mine has the big single red plug like an AU and i cant find any wires in the right colors to chop and change it. I got the donor box from an XH ute so i couldnt just take the whole loom and computer which would have been much easier but ill work with what i have so long as i can get a little help.

Thats the loom i have from my engine.

Thats the part im having some issues with.

I can list what colors i have on my big round plug if that would help any.

I have a pair of green, one of which has a violet stripe and a pair of pink. Could the pink be the ones?

Hey guys,

Quick question re the "must be in neutral to start" wiring, how do I bypass that? Just bridge the two out?

Cheers,
Nic
