I have a Ed XR6 and hate the btr would it cost a lot to get a workshop to do it ? I will give it ago just finding the time

Depends where you get your conversion kit from. Second hand can be $500-800, reconditioned $1000-1500. Getting someone to install it, add another $500-800.

I did mine and it cost me -$50 to -$100 (that's right, I made money!)

Crank bolts are M10fine x 30 High Tensile 11.8 grade and the Pressure plate bolts are M8 a*** x 25 high tensile 8.8 grade. I picked them up from the bolt shop for less than 10 bucks.

Good luck with it.

Pretty much. If they ask it's M10x1.25 (fine) and M8x1.25 (a***).

Ok, M10 = overall bolt diameter or Major diameter.
x1.25 = Thread pitch which is the distance between the threads along the length of the bolt.
x30 = The length of the bolt from the end of the bolt to under the hex.

The 10mm ones are 30mm long and the 8mm ones are 25mm long.

I don't really know about the ecu's. But, I do know that it is the smartlock module that tells the engine to crank or not (immobiliser).

Someone else chime in...

The ECU needs to receive a smartlock signal to operate correctly.

So, your smartlock module, if operating as intended, should send the required signal to the ECU.

In short, provided there is nothing actually wrong with the ECU it should theoretically work in your car.

The ECU is out of an EF?

Cheers
BenJ
