Guys,
Here is a small tool to allow people to enable and disable Police Mode on the B Series cars. I have finally got some time to finish it and have uploaded to Mediafire for people to use. Police mode is a function that set the clusters right hand LCD into a Digital Speedo, but you do lose functionailty of the left hand lcd (only 1 trip meter and DTE are available). But this tool will allow you to turn it on and off. All you need is an ELM 327 based scan tool, plus it into your car and have it running. Load up my tool, select the comm port and speed that the ELM is running on the PC(through the setup menu), and click connect. The tool will connect to the ELM and check the status of the Police Mode. Then you can toggle it on and off. Let me know what you think, I have tested it here on the bench and it works good so should work fine else where, but I cant take responsibility for it if it doesnt work Have fun. I have a mont so the trips on the icc, plus the two extra on the console I haven't used yet lol.

from memory police mode gives you a digital speedo readout in place of one trip computer on the cluster. you can then press a button and freeze that speed on the dash, cops use that to run at the same speed as you and get a fix on what you were doing without a radar. dont know if it affects the speed limiter, i dont see the point in trying to go past 160kmh on a public road so i never tried.

Wont affect speed limiter as the mod only changes the cluster nothing else.

That's pretty cool. The reason I ask is I had no intention of using it if it's sole purpose was to remove the speed limiter.
The digital readout on my AUII cluster is 3km/h different from the analogue unit, does that still occur ? Maybe I should stop asking questions and try it hehe

The digital speedo will give you the exact reading from the PCM, so I guess all needles will be out as there is always a tolerance with needles.
