you should get a pod filter with an inverted cone at the top increases the surface area.......

like i have seen used on r33 skylines..............

I think i want to try this. Ive got a uni panel filter at the moment but have experimented with pods befor on my last car. I found them to be more responsive i guess thats because theres more surface area?? anyway, no ones has any dramas with this set up have they?

Don't use tin snips or any other types of snipping, makes it hard to replace things. All you need to do is take off the square bracket at the back. Follow the hose up about 10 inches and undo the screw holding the hose on, this will then allow you to pull the hose into your box, use a clamp to clamp it to the filter and put the lid back on your box. Carry the spare parts in the boot, then if you have an accident or sell your car reverse the procedure and keep your bits.

Yeah. Very slight difference. I've noticed a nicer difference with my new 2.5inch sports exhaust though.

Pod wont fit in a ea-ed box but a ef-el box fits bought mine from wrecker for $40.

Unless you have a BBM conversion you will need to do sum minor playin around with hoses and box setup to be able to hook up your ef-el box because of throttle body position.

Have just fitted 1 on my ea (no BBM conversion) just havin a little trouble fitting snorkel(got AU3 XR8 Snorkel) but not a major issue just need to find a different shaped radiator hose to fit snorkel.

This my install of my DRIFT pod i god from autobarn.

1) I had the pod just outside in the engine bay at first and the heat does get to it causing sluggish throttle response after car has reached operating temp.

2) Had in totally enclosed in the airbox but it felt like it was getting starved of air at 3500rpm and above.

3) Used a holesaw kit and hacksaw and modified the lid a little. Works really well and looks awesome.

Cheers..................

good idea mate, looks awesome

I want to put a AU tickford intake pipe to the box with a 2.5 inch sports exhaust and a 3inch pod filter in the box. i dont really want to cut the box up but still want it to run right. Any ideas?

i can even get hold of a 5' pod! maybe a bit big.

Ideas would be greatly appreatited

Dave
