hey everyone, my mate has a 95 EF Futura, automatic.
recently been having trouble with the electronics such as when he would start it it would start beeping as if the lights were on when they werent on and saying his seatbelt wasnt on when it was. Now it's not starting could it be the battery or something else? all the lights on the dash and everything come on and when you try turn it over it makes a loud ticking noise, what's wrong with it? any suggestions on getting it started? thanks

also the dash lights flicker when turning the key over til they fade and go really dull but once you stop trying to turn the key over and have the ignition on they are back to normal brightness, im starting to think it is the battery

Could be a dead battery. Get a multimeter and measure the voltage of the battery. Should be at about 12V.
If not try hitting at the location of the BEM...which is located between the steering column and centre console where your knee is approximately located when sitting. Give the plastic surround a bashing and try starting it. Hope that helps.

the clicking or ticking sounds to me like a battery.
