i went up to super cheap today like a little boy with a dollar to spend on lollys at the shop,
I bought a Davies Craig Thermo Switch kit, that came with thermal switch , screws, relay wiring harness rubber chok, i will show some picks of the install of the thermal switch and relays. Only problem i have i don’t have a 36mm open end spanner to take that F%#ken clutch fan off. i will wire up the electrics of it tomorrow and search about seeing if i can find a person with the right size spanner and mug them for it. I bought extra a relay and 2 spools of 15 amp wire red and black, and a packet of heat shrink all up cost me $107 You can but the Davies Craig thermal switch on its own for $49 but the kit I bought was $79 in the next post will be the photos, have to stuff around with photo show to reduce them.

ok here are the photos
This is the air box removed on the v8 EB If you look close enough you will see the 2 small holes i drilled for the bracket that holds the davies Craig thermo switch Braket in place Here we have were i put the first relay that has the wring harness @nd relay that will be used to conect the 2nd fan to the aircon Air box back in place and you can see how neat the relays are beside it and you can still have easy access to take of the lid of the air box Shot of the Thermo switch mounted in it place with the air box in place and you can get easy acces to the contol of the switch Tope shot of the relays beside the air box You can see how the copper sencer goes into the top hose, you must be careful with the copper piping as you cant afford to kink it or split it, if you do that one f**k thermo switch and you will have to spend another $49 top replace it. be care full when you put this bugger in you use the little piece of rubber that came in the kit that has a small grove down the centre of it (make sure when you put the rubber wedge in you put it grove side up on the inlet of the radiator dont put the rubber wedge past the hump on the inlet of the radiator pipe) as thats were you lay the copper pipe, you best slide the hose off then move the hose clamp way up the hose out of the way, feed it into the hose and put the thin part of the copper pipe in the grove in the rubber wedge, hold it in place and slide the hose back on now be careful keep the hose clamp away from the end of the hose as you slide it back on the radiator and hold the copper pipe on the rubber wedge and make sure the pipe don’t slide back as you fit the hose back on, once you have it back on slide the hose clamp back down on the end and tighten, when you tighten the hose clamp the grove in the rubber wedge will close over the copper pipe and seal it from leaking. now replace your coolant remove all your tools out of the engine bay then start the car, look around the hose to see if it is leaking, let the car warm up and build up preacher and see then if you have any leaks. i will be doing the wiring tomorrow if all goes well and i will show how i did it with more photos. enjoy if you can lol

im using the 15 amp for the trigger wire not the main wire, i will be using 30 amp wire, i have seen people use 10amp wire and never have a problem. the wiring harness that comes with the kit is 15 amp wire.
This is the size i am going to use in read ans black here is the wiring instructions of the davies Craig thermal switch You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

i just had a better look at the wiring harness and its 10 amp wire not 15amp, it will handle it easy.
In the instructions i will be using diagram 5 and will only use one relay and not hook it back into the thermal switch as it will only come on when the aircon is turned on

ok here are some photos of what it looks like ith the fans bolted on and the cluch fan gone.
You can see i kept the snorcle just had to be carful to drill 2 small holes in the top of the plastic of the fans. before you try this mod on your EA,EB,ED make sure you have the radiator that will allow this mod, as it will need the 2 hols on the top on each corner to allow the nut and bolt to affix the wting fans to.

hi
good stuff.. you should notice a small difference in responce. dont forget to wire your fans via a relay to your aircon so when you turn your air con on the fans will come on.. otherwise you will cook your air con pump |
