Doesn't SS stand for Super Sport or something like that? And didn't Holden actually take it from Chev or some American partner company that uses it?

Can't say I'm a fan of that car, way too much red!!!

SS Stood for sports sedan it was a homologated model to allow entry into the sedan race scene..
This has pretty much been disposed of now.
but was a catagory set up pretty much for aussie 6's, but current models not dated door banging boxcars
thumped everything out there too from memory.

204 not very impressive? Peoples, power is not everything, even if this car had a stocko 100kw at the wheels power figure, it is still a one in five (the whiteline site says somthin else, but yea, Chris himself told me theres 5) And out of the 5, this particular one was driven to victory in '93, it's got a story to it, and thats whats impressive.

i'd like to know the standard figures.. if they reckon it was quicker then an XR8 by 5 seconds... thats a HUGE call...

It was a racing car, if it was slower than the xr8 of the time, that would kinda wreck the whole point of what it is being built for.........

wow there are many awesome cars like this that ford built and that are slowly coming to light now. The best of course being the 428 Cobra Jet XW built for the ford boss at the time(cant remember his name.)

The SS isn't really coming to light, it was never hidden. It was used in the production car races of the early 1990's, guess nobody really cared. They do now tho.

I've got no real idea of what its got done to it, i'll go have a look see next time I see the guy on my way past. Bloody nice car it is, taken care of fair well, its one of only few red falcons that i've seen that the paint isnt screwed on.

Hehehehe, yea, its kept on the street 24-7, because the ex chaser xc coupe takes up the garage space, fkn, in the weather, and not all faded, its amazing.

Was it Mal Rose who drove an SS EB Falcon in production cars back in the early 90s? I think that was his name?
