Guys,

Doing the fairmont front end conversion on my gli, bit confused as to what I have to do to run the fairmont lights, all I know at this stage (gli lights use H1 and H3 bulbs for low and high while the fairmont runs H4 for low and high.) Ive been told I need to swap the 4pin relay for a 5pin and thats when I guess I got tangled.. is it as simple changing the relay and changing the globe retainers over?

Cheers,
Damien

You need to replace the entire assembly, they're a different shape completely.

iirc, they're just plug and play.

Yeah I realize the lights themselves are different, got a new set on the way but because they use a different bulb I thought Id run into troubles so heres a reply I got from the company I purchased them off...

Also keep in mind you will need to modify your wiring
somehow as the Fairmonts have an extra wire in them as the low beam light
is a H4 compared to the Falcons H1 low beam. You will need to make it so
the H4 shuts of low beam when it switches to high beam, which could be a
bit tricky.

Hmmm...! Hope your right when you say plug and play.. :)

I have a Fairmont front on my EF Gli. Change bar, bonnet and plug your lights in.
That simple.

^^^^^^^You'll be running 3 lights per headlight on high beam.

post1004359.html?hilit=beam#p1004359
Disconnect the green/orange wire on the low beam relay. Then check low beam goes out when high beam is on. Probably not healthy to run 2 x high and 1x low beams concurrently in polycarb lights long term - they're pretty marginal to high power and heat.
