hey all

myself & tim (rapier) are intending on doing a full doco in regards to swapping over a head gasket - i have a spare tickford engine that i will be pulling apart, and able to take plenty of photos etc - so we will keep a thread running posting up all pics etc, and getting everyones thoughts/opinions/help in regards to any particular issues, so we can get a full comprehensive guide at the end of it

cheers

quite aware of that one - CFI EA - yes, same idea, but we'll look at including info with cam choices, head porting, etc etc - something more comprehensive, and covering EF/EL

i actually cant find thos pics on the site some of them were good actually, i took a heap when i did my head gasket, i also have a a whole engine to dismantle somewhere.

might get a few documents up including valve spring replacement etc, i think a much better docco for how to change cams is a good idea to, on with pics etc.

im looking forward to pulling th eengine ive got apart and re assembling it doing it more for my own learning than anything else.

while im looking at the pics is the reason the cylinders filled up with water because you didnt drain the coolant first, i wouldnt have thought have cyylinders full of cooland and in the oil galleries wouldnt be the ideal thing

looks like you just dobbed yourself in with some more mechanical know how hehe.

i think basically its a straight forward job only thing im yet to figure out really is the timing chain tensioner, if someone could give some clear and conscice way of actually resetting and re tentioning the tentioner for the timing chain i think that would be fantastic.
