Hey Guys,
This is my first Guide and I didn't take too many pictures because i seem to always get ahead of myself before i take pictures. But i hope this gives you guys some Idea's to make your Own. You could make a Snorkel out of anything really but this was easiest for me at the time. I don't have measurements, so this is going to require you to tinker What you will need - Some 6" PVC Pipe (Don't go to Bunnings, Go to a plumbers Supply. Bunnings is usually 4x as much) A Heat Gun PVC Tape or Paint (I was lazy so i used tape - Plus this was just a trial) A grinder or Jigsaw (I used a Grinder, But a Jigsaw would most likely be safer for the inexperienced user) Sponge Tape A saw 1. Remove your Airbox - First unscrew and remove your snorkel. Undo your Bolts for your air box and it should all slide out with a little persuasion. 2. Have a look underneath your headlight backing, you should have a small opening as pictured. This is what we need to mold our PVC Piping to. 3. Heat up your PVC Pipe (I don't have any measurements, currently use a piece that is too long and cut to size later) on your heat guns highest setting move it around frequently untill you notice it to sag. Bend it to shape to fit into that small gap (I used a piece of timber to mold so i wouldn't burn myself) put some water over it when your happy with the shape and it should hold. I ended up with something like this: I then wrapped it up in tape 4. Cut out a 6" hole in your Box where you see the pipe is going to fit. I drew the hole with a pencil tracing a piece of 6" pipe. I used a Grinder, but you can use whatever you have available (it needs to be tight for the pipe) Use a rough file then a fine to roughen up any edges (not shown in picture as i did that all last) 5. Check that your piece of 6" pipe fits snugly 6. Test fit the 6" pipe in the box use a marker to mark where you are going to need to cut the pipe for it to fit well inside the box. 7. Cut your PVC pipe Mine ended up about 5mm inside the box which is fine 8. Wrap some Sponge tape around the Pipe to make a seal on the box. I taped some of mine on as it was a thick sheet. 9. Fit your pipe into your air box, Put your air box back into place. 10. File all pieces to make them smooth (Sorry guys i dont have a picture of this) 11. Go for a test and enjoy. I noticed a louder growl from my exhaust and it feels like its got a noticeable change in takeoff. You guys should be able to make a better one than i did, I just did this as a test with a spare air box. Let me know if you guys have done anything similar or make something with the inspiration of my how to Thanks! Thanks and i hope there is enough pictures for you guys to get the idea.
