Hi all,

I'm just new on site here and have looked around for links to both exhausts and chips for the BF XR8.

:?:

Anyone have some ideas on exhaust systems that make the BF XR8 sound like a V8!!!!

Also any advice on chips regarding pricing and options etc. would be appreciated.

As I said I have looked around the site and cannot se a link to any supplier.

Thanks guys...

hey mate, welcome to the site, good to see more b-series owners joining to stop the e-series boys bullying us (joke). Now those cobras had a nice note about them indeed. Check out this link, your BF is (engine wise) the same as the BA boss 260.

Also, capa do tuning for xr8's with a capa flash tuner box. They cost about a $1000 with 3 generic tunes, or if you want a specialised custom tune, another $500 from a capa tuner.

Thanks smiley235 for your help there.

I did surf around, but missed those two links or forums so thanks again.

:P

The exhaust option of the two 'Lukey' turbos thru the two big bore barrels or 'Hot dogs' sounds the way to goooo!!

It sounds like a vacumm cleaner at the moment...

 ../you young guys are leading me astray.. :D

I have this ute sitting around in my shop if anyone wants to buy it.

:D

It's a V8 with TE50? exhaust system, Tickford wheels etc. Done genuine 135,000k. Mainly country and towing the Cobra to tracks etc.

Image

Think it owes me about $14,000 on the books, so will sell it for that.

It's a good ute but my son has his eye on it to use whilst he rebuilds his car. I'd rather sell it before!!!

np mate, i'm suprised there hasn't been more replies but possibly cause you posted it late at night, as soon as people start coming home from work/school, you should get some better info.

Thanks again the links have given me a good idea of what to use for the exhaust. It's great when someone has tried it and found that it works.

:?

I'm going to do a little more research on the chip as I'm not sure if I'm going to throw the economy out.

The old ute has travelled mostly on highways and this ute will also spend it's life on highways.

:?

So guess I need to make sure I don't rip the guts out of the economy for the sake of a few extra HP.

Mmm can use the Cobra for that...

Yes will keep an eye out here as others offer some suggestions, particularly on the chip and any advantages.

Cheers

Exhaust wise Di Fillipo are apparently the way to go for a BA/BF, if not pacemaker, genie are also reputable.

I bloke i work with cut the rear mufflers on his BA xr8 and it sounds burbly (is that a word?) and it was loud but it sounded a bit drony and kinda off beat.

Any way on a Friday arvo as the whole workshop was knocking off he pulled into the yard from site with a copper following. He got defected for his outrageously loud exhaust while pretty much the whole workshop was having a beer and havin a yarn. Then 30 odd co workers payin him out after the coppers left kinda made his day...
