How to run the EL ECU automatic control in an EA-EB1……………..

-------------------------EA TCM---------------------EL ECU
S1------------------------pin12 (Green/Black)--->pin51
S2------------------------pin27 (Green/White)--->pin52
S3------------------------pin26 (Green/Red)----->pin35
S4------------------------pin11(Green/Yellow)--->pin55
S5------------------------pin7 (Green)------------->pin38
S6------------------------pin13 (Yellow/Red)----->pin14
S7------------------------pin28 (Yellow/Green)-->pin11
Trans temp--------------pin1 (Blue/Yellow)----->pin42
Trans temp--------------pin5 (Blue/Orange)---->pin46***(Earth)
Econ Lt-------------------pin14 (Green)---------->pin12+++
Econ s/w-----------------pin18 (Green/Red)----->pin27
Gear select--------------pin17 (Violet)----------->pin30
Gear select--------------pin10 (Violet/White)---->pin46***(Earth)
Solenoid Power---------pin29 (Yellow)----------->pin 5(Ignition Power)

Once you have done this you are able to tape off the remaining wires to the TCM

*** - Can be spliced together.

+++ - The EA/ED's run a 'power' caption as opposed the 'Econ' in the EF/EL – so when 'power' is illuminated; you'll actually be in Econ mode.

(This has been done in my EB1)

Very well done !!! Just add:

------------------------------EA TCM--------------EL ECU
Speed Sensor-----------pin19 (White)----------->pin3

IIRC the V8 TCM's are pretty close pin out wise as well. Someone might want to add the differences.

Isnt the VSS spliced to the ECU also? Or am I thinking of the splice to the cluster.

Yeah, you're thinking of the cluster line - so a line also needs to go to pin3 on all 60 pin ECU's (EBII-EL except EF - I6).

thanks peeps, it was mostly snap064's work but nah i didnt put the speed signal in because there is already a speed signal wire to the ECU. i just snipped that wire lol, but its driving perfect.

No probs mate - you did all the testing though.
Yeah, my bad, noticed in the diagrams that ECU pin3 already has a white line to it.

So this should read "check for a short between TCM pin 19 & ECU pin3, if open cct, connect TCM pin 19 to ECU pin 3. If not, cut and tape pin 19. For those without a TCM, pin 3 should already be hooked up (applies to EA-EL except EF I6).
It's a shame you're car didn't survive long enough to reap the benefits.

i have an idea for this, why not run your power o/p thru an inverter then to the light? that way itll reverse the o/p voltage and you will actually be in the illuminated mode?
