Having my Ba XR8 converted from auto to manual, fitted by a reliable known specialist and was just wondering if anyone on here has done the same ( xr8 manual conversion)
I'm hoping people could share their thoughts on the conversion and any pitfalls that have arision since being done. Going 5 spd was going to fit a 6 spd however I couldn't justify the extra price and the nessesity to install a different diff also....too pricey for an extra cog IMO.

Haha the 6 speed is stronger.. And why would you have to change the diff?? I done a six speed conversion on an 04 XR8 ute and it was really straight forward.. Not much to look out for really. Did you get the manual ecu? That will have to be programmed into the car along with the ICC being proggrammed into the ecu. Other than that its all easy.

I was informed that the 3.46 diff would have it revving too low at cruise speeds in 6th. It will have a manual ecu installed.

Didn't think you needed a manual ecu as you can change it to manual via the tuning?
