i bought a fg 1 tonne ute and it comes with the standard steel taxi wheels. can i buy alloy 5 spoke wheels and would they carry a 1 tonne load?

Correct me if i'm wrong guys but alloy wheels actually handle more weight than there equivalent opponents in steel?

As long as you get good quality wheels (good quality mag wheels are very light) then you'll be right... The 17's on my car currently each have 750kgs stamped into them, so I imagine that when on the brakes, you've got 4 wheels at 750kgs each braking so 3000kgs worth of saftey there... The biggest thing with 1tonne vehicles is whether the brakes are up to it... not really the wheels...

Recon you'd be fairly right...
