My 2nd gear is fairly rooted. Going from 1st to 2nd needs to be done with ease, and coming down through the gears, I need to heel and toe to match the revs to get it into 2nd without having to go to easy.

A few years ago, with the help of snap0964, we removed the T5 and pulled her apart. 2nd gear synchro teeth were chewed and worn. We cleaned them up with a file and it helped a little, but it's back to being a pain in the backside.

So I've decided to pull the T5 again and replace it. So I just wondered where I can find a 2nd gear synchro for the T5? Preferrably new, to avoid this same problem. Any suggestions are welcome, as I don't know where I can buy s**t like that. What sort of price should I expect to pay?

Thanks :)

Really? Thats cheaper than I expected. Will have to see what the dealers near me are charging...would never have thought to try the Holden dealers...forgot they ran the T5 for a while too.

Are they the same box?

Just make sure you get the synchro for a World Class box (assuming for your EL?), not sure what commodores used world class (EB2+) and non world class boxes (xf-eb1).

They use different synchros though, not sure on compatibility if you get the wrong one.
