Gday i just got my new diff installed and it goes great, the car now sinks you back in the seat quite hard and overall is heaps quicker. Just wondering what i have to do to fix the speedo?
Also after i have fixed the speedo, will i still have to get the shift pattern changed?

Check with Greenmachine, I think he fitted a different gear unit, something to do with XF if I remember rightly, but could be wrong.

The correct way to fix the speedo is as follows.
1. use and XD/XF transducer for the box, it goes in the side, and use the green cog ( same as the 3.45:1 one) This will correct the speedo signal to the cluster, but it will stuff up your gear changes if you have an auto. 2. If you have an auto, build or order a speedo corrector from shiftkits.com . PM 66coupe i think it is to get one. This then needs to intercept the speed signal to the ECU. WHen you order it from shiftkits, tell them your original diff gear, as well as your new gears and the will set it up with the appropiate % difference. It is 3 or 4 wires to install it. This way guarantees the speedo is accurate, and the gearbox behaves and changes gears when it is supposed to, and prevents overrevving on full throttle acceleration with an auto. Cheers Brett

Until you get the speedo corrector be sure to leave the auto in econ, will help with the limiter bashing a bit.

correct way to fix speedo & shift points in one hit is fit a electronic speedo corrector as per below
post984037.html?hilit=speedo corrector#p984037 in my EF, it was pins 4 and 5 in the right side cluster plug that you used |
