hey all, i have been told before that no other bigger diff gears will fit into a 3.08 diff housing, i have the EF 3.08 diff here and my factory NC 3.23 LSD, tomorrow we were going to go about cutting and welding the handbrake holders onto the NC housing so i can keep the gearing and LSD. but upon looking at the housings they look identical and im pretty sure the same size.

was i told a load of bull crap and the gears WILL fit the housings? or did ford make 2 sized housings for the diff's?

They will fit straight in. I have fitted EBII 3.27 gears into an XD 2.92 housing...no probs.

imo its a myth...
the housings are the same, ive had 3.45 fitted to a 3.08 housing before with no troubles..
