no change in fuel economy here mate, not a noticable change anyway, i went from 3.08 to 3.73
sits on 2300 at 100km/h.

how out of whack can the speedo get with 3.73:1 gearing? I was keen on this awhile back and if the acceleration improvement is noticable, I'll go get it done in the next 2 weeks.

The speedo will be out by a fair way, with 4.11 it shows 140 when Im really at 100, but the difference is not flat. But all that aside u can just buy the speedo gear from ford to fix it up.

speedo gear goes into the speedo sender unit that sits in your gearbox. Not sure about falcons, but on commo's if you look under the car at the gearbox from the drivers side, there is a plug like thing hanging out with two wires running out of it. PRetty simple to unbolt, pull out the speedo gear, put in new one and then bolt up again.

I went from 3.08 to 3.7's in my ute and didnt notice F**k all difference in fuel economy either.

Just remember, Ford only have 3.45 speedo gears...nothing higher...if you go 3.73 / 3.9 / 4.11 - you won't be able to get anything from Ford...the only option is a police spec cluster that has the speedo calibration feature.

assuming so, and from 3.08 to 3.7 my speedo is out as follows:

SPEEDO READING / ACTUAL ROAD SPEED

60km/h / 44km/h
80km/h / 57km/h
100km/h / 80km/h
130km/h / 100km/h
180km/h / 145ish

so as u can see its a real prick tryin to work it all out, so just get a new speedo gear, as u can also see its not really consistant

Has anyone got any time slips with their 3.08's etc etc, then again with their 3.45's / 3.7's???

It would be very interesting to see the difference...
