I am putting in LSD 3.7 into 5.0L ED Fairmont.
Is there a speedo gear to suit or electronic adjustment. It is an auto. Richie.

No there isnt the best you can do is a gear for a 3.45 diff, you will need to get an electronic speedo adjuster kit like the one from jaycar.

If you do this you may run into troubles with your auto shift patterns as the auto ecu get feedback from the speedo. Say for example your car your car would shift at 5400rpm at WOT with a diff change (3.27 to 3.73) and speedo adjustment your car now, your car wont shift until it hits about 6160rpm, alright if you have a worked motor but not much good if its a stocker. The best thing you can do is just live with a bit of speedo error and make up a card to show what your indicated and actual speeds are.

I believe that a black speedo gear out of XF falcon has 23 teeth which is what I think you need for 3.7 diff. But I thought ratio for XF was 3.5.
Mick Webb thought Monaro used white 23 tooth for 3.7 but am not sure if it fits 95LE tranny. Any thoughts?

If you have a manual, would there be any other issues with using the jaycar fix?

I would have thought that an auto would use RPM vs Throttle to control the shift points. Does it use the speed aswell or instead of RPM?
