I've been thinking about this for a year and still can't decide.

Who has either diff ratio with a manual?
What's it like?

it all depends what you want.
if you wnat to drive on the freeway, i probably wouldnt do either, unless you have a 6 speed.

I wanna go for a ride in a manual one. See what it's like. Being an LTD it's heavy so 3.9 is good, but it's not a race car so 3.7 is good.

I have that covered. The car is a cruiser but I'd like better throttle response and acceleration than what I do now with 3.5

i have manual and 3.9's :D

launch is awesome but can sometimes feel like you didnt get very far in first gear. its still worth it because i really enjoy second gear now, if your in a bit of traffic and need to over take you just drop back to second and you can wave see ya later if ya got time ;)

i put 3.45 lsd in my ea spac and it had a great take off but it felt a bit out of puff in 3rd and 4th. when you ghange into 3rd it was like it was past its torque curb or something and didnt really pull that hard.. you could also take off in 2nd no problems at all.
maybe being a 3.9mpfi it had different torque curb to a 4ltr or something im not sure? but i put a 3.08 lsd in it and it has a much better feel mid range ..
believe it or not with 3.45 the car was slower 1/4 mile than it is with 3.08.
im still a little confused why?? but 0 -100 was excellent ..

if you really like that big suck back in the seat feeling on take off go for it!!

you would have been going slower on the 1/4 because you would have had to grab an extra gear near the line compared to the 3.08

im hoping to redline 4th over the line compared to my 3.45 which would make me grab 4th a bit before the line about 50 meters or so. its hard to tell when your going fast :P

surely you don't need a shorter diff with over 350rwkw?
