im about to buy a 3000 stally for the ED its running EL EFI will a 3000 stally put the auto control into limp home???????? i ran a 2500 stally on the EL computer before and it was good, but before i converted it to EL efi the EB1 auto computer would go into limp home mode when u stalled it up, thinking its slipping, i just wanna make sure 3000 isnt to big for a stock auto control , coz i dont wanna be stuck with the limp home mode crap again, does any1 run a 3000 stall with no problem in an EF-EL??

3000 rpm is the limp home limit so it would be really cutting it fine, is 2500 not enough?

I will have wire-in modules available very soon that solve the limp mode issue with stall converters.

hmmmm ill think about going 2500 again then.... and 66 coupe if i get an EL automatic in good condition will a shift kit prolong the life of the box, if im giving it a hiding and the car is running about 170rwkw would it be better off with a shift kit??

Yes, the shift kit will save the bands and clutches from wearing, and will also reduce the chance of the gearbox slipping under high load conditions.

Very interested! I've got an EL with a 2700 rpm stall converter, and when pushed or stalled up too much the auto does go into LHM. |

I had the JMM 3000rpm stall in my auto, was great, could do good line lockers easy, now with a 2000rpm stall its go no balls to lose traction even in the rain trying hard (full lock, jabbing the brake etc). Thinking of upgrading to 2500rpm and give it a go.
Shift kit is also a good idea for the auto, mine will quickly spin as it slams into 2nd. |

the jmm stallie was good done hard launches, but was apparently faulty which led to a destroyed auto (everything burnt blue), the tranny shop sent the jmm stallie to rpm converters here in sydney he took it apart and said it was manufactured poorly so the fellas that rebuilt my box put in a 2000 satllie.
