Well since no one knows about this conversion , I have done my own study. Eb series 2 have auto control in the ecu so i have found out I only need to add extra wires from the gearbox to ecu. Im wondering though if anyone knows if the 4lt ecu wud work with the 3.9 motor?>

What brands are the 2 transmissions , the 3 & 4 spds .
I was hoping they fit on a 4.1 motor .

HEy guys,

starting the electronic 4 speed auto conversion to the EA today. I only just realised though because we were going to run a EB computer that it has smartlock.

IT wont run right? I don't really want to buy a bypass module.

Although we do have a Ef key barrel in the EA now so is there anyway of wiring the pcb to the ECU to run? OR do we need a BEM as well?

ANy help soon would be appreciated thanks!

the 4.0 has smartlock i would be going for a ebs1 4speed auto ecu that dosnt have smartlock as i dont think a smartlock ecu will work in a non smartlock car

Ok I got one out of the EB series one. The computer is mounted under the dash left on the pedals but my LPG computer is mounted there so im going to put in under the centre console.

Got the 3 speed out last wk & now the 4 speed is going in. Next is incorporating all the BTR computer wiring.

Keep u guys updated with the conversion...

I'm starting to wire in the BTR computer now. Just wondering if anyone

1-knows which pin in the dash is for the power/economy lamp.

2- if i can piggy back onto the existing TPS with the ecu wires for the transmission instead of getting the tandem sensors...

Heys...today we pulled out of the conversion :(

A couple of guys were right here, the floor tunnel is different shape and the mounts are nearly 100mm too far forward so a note to everyone.

Although the conversion can be done and I have already wired the harness in, we have decided its too much effort for what its worth. SO dissapointing though because took a fair amout of time to make a harness up & diagnose different colour wires from different models etc....

ANyway,
So now, we are looking for a decent 3 speed auto to put back in, along with the kickdown cable to suit MPI...Does anyone have one?
