Hey guys ..

I'm looking at picking up a set of 4.11 diff gears, and a 2500 stallie

Now, what i was wondering, if my shift points will be any different, because i know the speedo is going to be out ...

also, top end ... im guess if i was to do 1/4 mile times, i'd hit the speed limiter before the end of the track???

I've never driven a call with a high stall before, (this is going in the NL) can anyone please explain to me, how it would go, and what problems i might run into, and also, the good points of it!!!

Thanks heaps guys, your teaching a girl lots of stuff!!!

Talk to your local Ford dealer and tell them of your mods, and they will calculate the gear required to set your speedo correctly-about $30, for the gear.

i doubt you'd hit the speed limiter before the end of the track... but i could be wrong
ive got 3.45s and i get to 148kmh.

the 2500 hi-stall might get annoying if you do a lot of city / peak hour driving... but anywhere else and you shouldnt find it a problem :)

a 2500 hi-stall and 4.11s would go hard. :D

Ford dont have cogs for 3.7, 4.11's etc.

With regards to shift points, as far as i know you have to run a speedo correcter like Jaycar sells, to correct the signal before it reaches the speedo, then run another correcter when it leaves the speedo to the ecu so the shift points remain the same & the speedo signal is reading right at the same time........ you cant have one or the other with just one speedo correcter

If you run 4.11s and a 2500 stally and run a corrector to the DASH only NOT the ECU your shift points will be fine and it will go like stink my old EB Fairmont f**k hammered with that setup but frying 1st and 2nd taking off got annoying eventually.

i never ran a corrector i just ran the 3.45 cog to make my shift points more agressive as the ECU was tuned for 3.23 and i just accepted that 114 on speedo was 100 lol

but yes have tested the jaycar corrector in the ED works a charm bit annoying doing the assembly tho lol
