Hey there.
Yhe auto in my '79 LTD is an FMX, and its f****d. From what i know, the EB-ED autos are controlled by there own computer, are they not? My question is, is there any chance of being able to run one of there boxes on a carbi motor? If so, whats involved? I know bugger all about the autos, cos i've never had one. thanks Andrew.

yeah it can be done, quite a few of my customers are putting them behind clevelands,
You need to get the trans, harness and TCM out of an EB,ED,EL v8 falcon, and install it all. You then need to mount a throttle position sender onto the primary shaft of the carby, and use a multispark ignition (ie msd, crane, accel, mallory) to provide the correct tach output to the TCM. The only issue from here is getting the cable speedo to work, as the trans requires the electronic sender. The 4 speeds will work very well with 3.7 or 3.9 diff ratio's behind the clevo's |

Cool, so there is light at the end of the tunnel.
Mine is a 351 4v clevo, so it'll be sweet to have that, not sure what ratio mine is, but will be one of those you mentioned. So wiring on the TCM other than what you mentioned will just be a pos and neg? Also, is there an easy solution for the speedo drive? Is there such a thing as a drive that goes into the box and has two outputs?
