Hi there, I am currently halfway through converting my xh ute to a 5 speed which has an xr6 motor in it. I have used the 5 speed out of another wrecked xh ute, my question is, can i just use the ecu out of the wrecked ute will it just plug in all the same? Will the xr6 motor make any difference to that? Any help appreciated, cheers

You'll need to add the gearbox loom (7 wires or so) to the existing engine bay loom.
The manual XH ecu will work with the XR6 engine, however there won't be an output for the BBM (manifold runner solenoid) personally I would just do the resistor trick to your existing auto ECU. also, change the speedo driven gear from the auto box to the sender on the manual one.

Ok, ill try and have a go at the resistor trick for now, should i keep the manual ecu for future use? Is swapping the speedo driven gear as easy as it looks? Thanks for your reply.

A tickford motor requires a tickford ecu. If you don't get this right the fueling will be be wrong due to different fuel pressure between standard and tickford engines. The extra fuel pressure was used to feed the extra HP the tickford engine makes
